Huper Welcomes Josh Stephens as VP of Engineering

Huper is entering its next phase of growth, and to help lead the way, we’re excited to welcome Josh Stephens as our Vice President of Engineering.

Josh joins Huper at a pivotal moment. As we continue building toward our vision of a digital chief of staff, he’ll be responsible for laying the engineering foundation of our product, strengthening development processes, and growing a world-class team.

Working closely with Huper’s founders, Josh will help shape a fast-moving, high-impact engineering culture that blends full-stack generalists with deep expertise in AI and search – all grounded in an ownership mindset.

Building the Digital Chief of Staff

At Huper, we’re building something fundamentally different from traditional productivity tools.

Our platform is an always-on AI system that securely gathers and synthesizes information across emails, messaging platforms, CRM tools, and other core workflows. This means real-time status updates, clearer execution tracking, and smarter surfacing of decisions that require leadership attention.

What sets Huper apart is our proprietary AI Brain. Rather than generating surface-level summaries, it continuously contextualizes information against your goals and historical data. This allows Huper to function as a true digital Chief of Staff, delivering insights with the depth and perspective of a seasoned executive.

With our official product launch planned for this fall, Josh’s leadership comes at exactly the right time.

A Proven Leader with Deep Technical Experience

Josh brings decades of experience across engineering, AI, and cybersecurity. He previously served as a Software Development Manager at Warner Bros. Discovery, where he led teams building AI-enhanced search and personalization systems for platforms like HBO Max and Discovery+.

Before that, he was Head of Software Development (US) at Kudelski Security, and earlier in his career, a Senior Research Scientist at the Georgia Tech Research Institute.

Notably, Josh’s relationship with Huper’s founders dates back years, making this a natural next chapter in a long-standing collaboration.

As VP of Engineering, Josh will lead Huper’s technical vision and engineering strategy, ensuring we scale thoughtfully while staying true to our mission. With Josh on board, we’re more confident than ever in what we’re building and where we’re headed.
